International audienceTexts from the Upper-Mesopotamian kingdom in the the time of king Samsi-Addu (also known as Shamshi-Adad I.) in the 18th century BC are dated by Assyrian eponyms and a special month calendar different from the Old Assyrian one. The succession of month names has been established in 1985 by D. Charpin (MARI 4, p. 244ff.) and confirmed in the following years. The starting point of the year in fall, intercalation of supplementary months and annual festivals are known. This dating system survived after the death of Samsi-Addu and the collapse of his huge kingdom in many parts of Upper Mesopotamia.Les textes du royaume de Haute-Mésopotamie de l'époque du roi Samsi-Addu (également connu sous le nom de Shamshi-Adad I.) au 18e ...
